Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Poople handles data for the daily word game, solver, leaderboard, comment wall, analytics, and advertising-related services.

Who operates Poople

Poople is an independent web word-game helper available at https://poople.run/. The site provides a playable daily board, route hints, answer archives, solver tools, unlimited practice, leaderboards, and player notes.

Information we collect

Game and community data

When you save a score or submit a note, Poople may store the display name you choose, puzzle key, route details, help level, hint count, solve time, comment text, comment tag, reactions, review status, reports, appeals, and timestamps. We use this information to show leaderboards, recent solves, history views, and moderated comment walls.

Technical data

Our hosting, security, and community API providers may process IP address, browser user agent, request URL, referrer, device information, approximate location derived from network data, and timestamps. We use this data for security, rate limiting, spam prevention, uptime monitoring, and abuse investigation.

Analytics data

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are optional. Their scripts are not loaded until you choose Allow analytics in the privacy panel. Choosing Essential only keeps the game available without those scripts. You can reopen Privacy choices from the footer; withdrawing analytics consent clears accessible first-party analytics cookies and reloads the page without the optional scripts.

Advertising and Google products

Poople may use Google AdSense in the future. The AdSense ad-serving script is not intentionally enabled during the current site-review period. Before ads are enabled, Poople will configure applicable consent requirements, including a Google-certified consent management platform where required. If advertising is enabled later, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, browser data, and other identifiers to serve ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, and personalize ads where permitted.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services at Google's partner sites policy page. You can manage Google ad personalization at Google Ads Settings.

Cookies and local storage

Essential local storage remembers theme preference, player name, local game progress, community client ID, privacy choice, and anti-abuse state. Optional analytics storage is used only after consent. You can clear cookies or local storage in your browser settings, though local progress, identity, and preferences may reset.

How we use information

User-generated content

Verified leaderboard names may appear publicly. A new comment-wall note that passes automated pre-screening enters pending human review and is not public until it is approved. The submitting browser may show a private pending-review card so you know the note was received. Reported, rejected, or hidden notes are removed from the public wall while they are reviewed, and the original poster can request another review. Do not submit personal information, contact details, offensive language, links, private messages, or content you do not want reviewed for possible public display.

Sharing and service providers

We may share data with service providers that help operate Poople, including hosting providers, analytics providers, security/rate-limit systems, database providers, and advertising technology providers. These providers process data for the purposes described in this policy and their own applicable policies.

Children

Poople is a general-audience word game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it.

Your choices

You can avoid posting leaderboard names or comments, clear browser storage, block cookies in your browser, use Google ad controls, and contact us about privacy questions or removal requests. Some features may not work fully if cookies, scripts, or local storage are disabled.
